Questions
How is Recordd different from Otter, Fathom, Granola?
Those tools record meetings: calls you schedule, video conferences with bots joining on your behalf. Recordd records everything else too: the call with your doctor, the idea you had on a walk, the conversation with your kid. It's a personal conversation library that happens to transcribe meetings, not a meeting tool that happens to record. Built for Mac and iPhone, records in the background when your phone is locked, and never asks anyone else for permission to join.
Is my audio private? Where does it go?
Your audio and transcripts sync to your private Recordd library so they're available on all your devices. Transcription runs on our servers via Deepgram; nothing is used to train any AI model, ours or a third party's. You can delete anything permanently at any time. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Does Recordd work offline?
Recording works fully offline, even with airplane mode on, even when your phone is locked. Transcription needs an internet connection because it runs on a server, but your audio queues on your device and transcribes as soon as you're online again. You never miss a recording because of signal.
Can I record from my phone and see it on Mac?
Yes. Recordings made on iPhone sync to your library and appear on your Mac automatically: audio, transcript, summary, and everything you've added.
How does the 2-hour free tier work?
You get 40 minutes of total recording (lifetime, not per month) with transcription, summaries, and every other feature included. When you hit the cap you can keep the app to review what you've already recorded, or upgrade to Pro anytime to lift the cap.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Recordd. On Mac: App Store, your account, Manage subscriptions. Refunds are also handled by Apple; visit reportaproblem.apple.com for those.
What's the difference between weekly and yearly?
Weekly is $6.99/week, no trial, cancel anytime. Yearly is $99.99 once (about $8.33/month) with a 3-day free trial. If you know you want Recordd, yearly is a lot cheaper; weekly is there for people who only need a few weeks.
