Does Recordd work offline?
Yes. Recording works fully offline. Transcription needs an internet connection because it runs on a server — but the audio stays queued on your device and transcribes as soon as you’re online again.
Does Recordd keep recording when I lock my phone or switch apps?
Yes. Once a recording is running, it continues in the background — when your phone is locked, when Recordd is not the active app, during phone calls (paused politely and resumed after), even when your device sleeps. You’ll see the recording indicator in the status bar the whole time.
Where are my recordings stored?
On your device, and — when you’re signed in — synced to your Recordd library in the cloud so they’re available on all your devices. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
What’s free? What’s Pro?
The free tier gives you 120 minutes of recording, forever. Recordd Pro unlocks unlimited recording, longer sessions, and the fuller feature set — $6.99 a week or $99.99 a year with a 7-day free trial. Cancel anytime in your device’s subscription settings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Recordd. On Mac: App Store → your account → Manage subscriptions. You can also cancel during your free trial and won’t be charged.
How do I delete my account and my data?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your profile, recordings, transcripts, and anything else tied to your account from our servers. You can also write to support@recordd.co and we’ll do it for you.
Refunds?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select the Recordd purchase. If you’re having trouble, let us know and we’ll help however we can.
Recording laws
Recording laws vary a lot from place to place. In some jurisdictions you need every person’s consent; in others you don’t. You’re responsible for the laws that apply where you are. When in doubt, tell people you’re recording and get their permission. See our Terms for the full picture.
